The Sport model was introduced in 1933, shortly before Colt switched to a heavier barrel weight on all models. Consequently, only the early production Sport Model had the medium weight barrel. In addition, only the first two or three hundred had the "half moon" shaped front sight, before the change was made to a ramp type front sight. Of that two or three hundred no one knows how many survive, but it is certain that very few survive in this condition.
